Most AC airflow and cooling issues are typically caused by five main problems: a clogged cabin air filter, refrigerant leaks, evaporator blockage, compressor failure, or electrical faults—and identifying the correct cause early helps restore proper cooling and avoid costly repairs.

1. Clogged Cabin Air Filter
A clogged cabin air filter is one of the most common causes of weak airflow. Over time, dust, pollen, and debris build up and restrict air passage.
Even if the AC system is working properly, a blocked filter can significantly reduce airflow into the cabin. Regular replacement helps maintain strong and consistent ventilation.
2. Refrigerant Leak (AC Gas Loss)
Low refrigerant is a major cause of poor cooling performance. Small leaks can develop over time through worn seals, damaged hoses, or loose fittings, allowing gas to escape gradually.
This usually begins with weaker cooling and can progress to warm airflow. A pressure test is needed to locate leaks, repair them, and recharge the system to restore performance.
3. Clogged Evaporator or Internal Air Passages
The evaporator cools air before it enters the cabin, but it can become partially blocked by dirt and debris. This leads to weak or uneven airflow even if other components are working normally.
Since it is located deep inside the dashboard, servicing it requires specialized tools and proper technical work to avoid damage to surrounding parts.
4. Compressor Failure
The compressor is the core of the AC system, responsible for circulating refrigerant. When it fails, the system may stop producing cold air entirely.
